JCB India is one of the leading manufacturers of earthmoving and construction equipment in the country. For implementation of Manufacturing Execution System is one of its plants, the organization needed to create an infrastructure, which can provide enterprise-level performance and reliability with the efficiency, flexibility and economics of cloud. The company deployed an HCI platform – the solution simplifies IT by combining infrastructure and advanced data services for virtualized workloads. The deployment of HCI solution provided the agility and economics of the cloud with the control and governance of on-premises IT. Additionally, the HCI infrastructure is able to reduce the storage capacity and bandwidth utilization by up to ten-times with always-on deduplication and compression. The software-based nature (policy-based virtual machine centric management) of the hyper convergence provides the flexibility required to meet current and future business needs. The solution provided scalable resources that offered all the functionality of traditional IT infrastructure—including compute, storage and data protection capabilities—in a single device, with a unified, VM-centric administrative interface. VM centricity and mobility enabled all actions, policies, and management at the VM level, and improved IT agility.
